Awards are based on a combination of the facilities available,the quality of these facilities and the establishment in general, with the emphasis being placed on the quality aspect. Below is the Tourist Boards guide to interpreting these awards:

	Fair and acceptable
	Good
	Very Good

The AA:

"Diamond" awards relate to B&B establishments, and "star" awards relate to Hotels.
